In this 14-session class, at, St. Mark’s Community Center, we will cover the basics of Biblical Hebrew: the alphabet, how to sound out words, some grammar, and some cultural tidbits about Biblical Hebrew. We will also have fun! This class is open to all denominations and religions. We will be focusing solely on reading Biblical Hebrew, not speaking Modern Hebrew. Suggested 1-2 hours a week of outside work. Suggested donation is $5 per class. The instructor, Jonathan Homrighausen, is a graduate student in Biblical Studies at the Graduate Theological Union. Every class we will: (1) review the previous week’s exercises; (2) cover new grammar; and (3) spend 20 minutes on a cultural lesson.
